Palacký University Olomouc, Department of Geoinformatics (geoinformatics.upol.cz/en) has couple years experience with organising conferences, workshops, summer schools and similar events. Beside events mainly oriented to local (Czech) students and experts (e.g. Geocomputation Summer School), the department has organised big international event – CARTOCON 2014 Conference (cartocon2014.org/), a great cartographic gathering – and is also organising and co-organising summer schools with other foreign parnters, e.g. Spationomy Summer School (spationomy.mvso.cz/), EduChange Summer School (educhange.net/), DigiGeo events (geoinformatics.upol.cz/digigeo), International Summer School on Visualisation (geoinformatics.upol.cz/iss) to name a few. And finally in 2017, the department organised a first stand-alone GeoSpatial Summer School (G3S, http://gisummer.upol.cz/2017/) under the Visegrad Fund, which established the tradition of G3Ss in Olomouc.
