“G3S Health 2024”
In today’s world, the interconnection between geography, geoinformatics and health (healthcare, wellbeing, accessibility of health services, health-economics) has become indispensable, fostering a deeper understanding of how location impacts health outcomes and enabling smart actions and decisions in complex health challenges. The role of geospatial technologies has become more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemics – from „simple“ occurence mapping, through spatial analyses of pandemics dynamics, to geovisualisation in a form of dashboards in order to communicate the issue to the general public.
The GeoSpatial Summer School aims to open several aspects of how GIScience can be applied in the domain of „health“. Nevertheless, the summer school topics are not limited to geospatial technologies; economics of health or geo-communication will be introduced too.
The G3S Health 2024 offers an opportunity for the encounter of students, scholars, and experts in the field of GIScience and anyone interested in health-related topics. Series of lectures, workshops and practicals will be led and supervised by experts from both geospatial and health domains. As in previous years, the G3S strives to establish an open platform for participants to bring their experiences, ideas, data and projects to share, work, present and discuss it. The GeoSpatial Summer School primary focus is to provide and transfer a modern and new skills, techniques and knowledge in given topic both ways – from experts/scholars to the students, and vice versa.
